Happy B-Day America! Many years ago some Brits said "Fuck Parliament, Let's blow this fish&chips stand" and sailed the seas to come oppress some other non-Brits who were already here / got shipped here to build this glorious country! (That is the abridged Bastardized History 101, sorry) 234 years ago they officially said "No U Cannot Has Our Coloniez LOLZ" and declared their independence from Britain. For as much as there is wrong with us as a nation, I fucking LOVE America. I'm lucky as hell to be here, and even luckier to still be alive. No Joke. Real Talk. America is all sex & love & Rock&Roll to me, baby... Plus other awesome shit such as:
Jello Shots
Jessica
Taco trucks parked in your own driveway
Dogs in tutus
Nice houses
Nice beaches (Playa Del Rey was perfect this weekend FYI)
Sunscreen accidents
Girls in Sailor hats
Booze in plastic cups
Booze in fruits
Slip N' Slides
Beach V-Ball
Dudes in wigs and gay male models
Coco Loco
Giant Jenga
Sleeping in your man's jort crotch in the sun
Jorts in general
Chicks wrestling in sand
Sunsets
and Cowboy Boots.
Happy Birthday America! I love you!
LA on the otherhand...
Westwood / Bev Hills was crappy as shit this morning
Dear LA - I have noticed your recent lack of regard for the weather conditions of the Summer season. I have been accused of bringing San Francisco with me to taint your famously temperate and enjoyable weather. I find this wholly unacceptable. I trust you will remedy the weather conditions as soon as you are able, with great expediency and enthusiasm.
AKA - Ink N Iron Tattoo Convention & Music Festival, Long Beach June 11-13, 2010
Stef!! Hard to believe we first took a pic like this 7 years ago... oh how young we were then... This lovely lady was present with HepKat Salon from San Luis Obispo. Thanks for doing my hair woman!! Miss & Love you!!
2 of my favorite hoes, top deck dining
Purveyor of fine ceramics
Saturday situation... SAN FRANCISCO x VENTURA x LONG BEACH!!!
The pictures are misleading. I spent 25% of the weekend in Long Beach vicinity and V Room with one of my favorite people. The other 75% was manning the Out To Sea booth with Let it Bleed Tattoo parlor and selling shit. Errors and Omissions: Champagne, Lakers Games, getting hair done, outfit changes, Brette being fantastic as usual, broken toilets, broken tiles, heatstroke, and swooshing my sailor skirt up and down 6 flights of stairs anytime someone needed to get cell signal from the ground level.
Observation situation... Prepare for Merle in 5... 4... 3... 2...
Wake up SF & LA - Sailor Jerry documentary is back!!! June 9-15
Saturday, 05 June 2010 17:09
If you missed our awesome parties last year for the screenings of Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry - aka Life & Times of Norman K Collins, US Navy vet and American Tattoo master - you're in luck! Last year was an amazing success and the SF screening topped all expectations when we hit capacity and there was still a line down the block for the after party!
Select screenings of this amazing documentary are showing this month in the SF and LA markets - RSVP for free entry to the film! Learn about the history of Norman Collins and the dawn of modern American tattooing - watch the YouTube trailer for more info... Get on it!!!
Well Well - remember last September, after weeks of scouting venues, booking people places and things, and promoting all across the Bay Area, when the Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry film premier and party came to reality? (see my pics from set up to teardown here and some official pics in this post) - well Quaker City Merc put together a little video showcasing what when down that night - catch cameos of me, Ant, Hustle, and more... It's insane to think how much blood and sweat goes into making a great event - driving 700+ RSVPs through personal promotion & networking, and rocking the shit out of the Mission, all night and over capacity... to make the most successful Film Premier in all 13 regional markets across the US. Check the video!
Had a weekend in SF to ease some homesickness, see some people, get work done at the convention / prep for the LBC convention, brainstorm, percolate, simmer, etc. SEX DRUGS SKATEBOARDING ROCK N ROLL
RAMPY meets Fort Mason for the 2nd time so far this year...
"It's a whip cream world, brother"
It was rainy and cold in San Jose but we've mastered the art of urban-industrial indoor camping.
My girl Shrinkle's made her hard work into something tangible with the new cosmetic brand Sugarpill, which is gradually picking up steam. I am so proud of her!!! I apologize in advance (no I don't) for how colorful I'll be in the coming days. I'm very curious how it compares to the brightness of Kryolan, the quality of MAC (which is pretty overrated, in my opinion), and the bolder colors of Too Faced, MUFE, etc... Looks like I've got some work to do!
Back in SF the next day
BFFE!
Lurked the old hood! Crashed with Bex in my old building and walked to BART at 4AM to catch an airport train - only got hollared at SIX times, a new low record. Crack never sleeps.
MarketVision
Morning Commute (PS THERE IS A SEPHORA IN THE INT'L TERMINAL WTF???)
And got a surprise RVC from Marie. Breakfast of champs.
I am so fucking tired. Same shit different day.
Thanks to the fam & friends that made my weekend spectacular, my heart aches just a little less from loving you all and a little more from longing to see you all again soon.
Lots of pictures of the same 3 people. Yet maybe the best New Year's Eve I've ever had...
Kicked off NYE 2009 w/ a Meet Up in my neighborhood @ Ye Olden Civic Centre
Then we flew down to Rio

I like holidays where you see people you love and don't see anyone you don't like. You eat and drink and there are no plans and there is no stress. Thanks to Jill & Drew for coming up to SF to make my night awesome & to the sick boy that made my night perfect.
